What is Full Spectrum Culture?

All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Jesus Christ.
[See Matthew 28:18]

This all-encompassing authority is subdivided into seven realms.

God has given each realm its own sovereignty over a distinct sphere of human existence, and each realm has its own hierarchies defined by the Word of God.

Agents in these hierarchies should also be informed by God’s Word: that is, the subjects of each hierarchy have a responsibility to submit to the authority of the head of the hierarchy, but only on the condition that the head fulfills his responsibility to his subjects as an individual under the authority of God.

Should a head of a given hierarchy neglect his responsibility of service, that person will eventually find themselves removed from their position of authority by divine providence working through any number of second causes.

Further description of each type of hierarchy can be found on the main page for each realm.

The Realm of the Self

Encompasses all aspects of the individual human. Every individual within this realm is bound by conscience, and if redeemed, the Holy Spirit as well. Within this realm, each individual is subject directly to God. This Realm is unique from the other six, in that it is neither inherently positive or negative. Thus the rightful motive forces within the Realm of the Self are different from the other six. They are Circumstance, Choice & Consequence.

The Realm of the Neighbor

Encompasses all aspects of interaction between individual humans or within or between groups of humans in which no other authority structure is involved. Within this realm, agents are bound by their common humanity. The hierarchy in this realm is unique, in that each agent is constantly and equally subject to every other serving agent. The rightful motive forces of the Realm of the Neighbor are the positive ones: Hope, Love & Peace.

The Realm of the Family

Encompasses all familial relationships. Agents within this realm are bound by blood, covenants of marriage, and covenants of adoption. Hierarchies within this realm include: Wife subject to serving Husband, Child subject to serving Parent. The rightful motive forces of the Realm of the Family are the positive ones: Hope, Love & Peace.

The Realm of Nature

Encompasses all matter & energy, space & time, natural forces. Agents within this realm are bound by the laws of nature. The primary hierarchy within this realm is the physical universe subject to God as ruler and serving human as steward. The rightful motive forces of the Realm of Nature are the negative ones: Fear, Obligation & Guilt.

The Realm of Religion

Encompasses all spiritual relationships. Agents within this realm are bound either to condemnation by the Divine Covenant of Works, or to salvation by the Divine Covenant of Grace. Hierarchies within this realm include: Congregant subject to serving Elders, Deacons subject to serving Congregants and serving Elders, Teaching Elders subject to serving Ruling Elders, and Ruling Elders subject to other serving Ruling Elders. The rightful motive forces of the realm of Religion are the positive ones: Hope, Love & Peace.

The Realm of the Market

Encompasses all relationships involving the fair exchange of value for value. Agents within this realms are bound by covenants of contract. The primary hierarchy in this realm is Servant (vendor or employee) subject to serving Master (customer or employer). The rightful motive forces of the Realm of the Market are the negative ones: Fear, Obligation & Guilt.

The Realm of Government

Encompasses all civil authority and all power of the sword. Agents within this realm are bound by covenants of constitution. Hierarchies within this realm include: Citizen subject to serving Ruler(s), and Lesser Ruler(s) subject to serving Greater Ruler(s). The rightful motive forces of the Realm of Government are the negative ones: Fear, Obligation & Guilt.
