Publicizing.
I’d been thinking about doing this for a while, and I finally did it. I signed up with BlogAdSwap just for the heck of it. My ad is on the right of this post. This isn’t a commercial site, so I don’t have ads that are paid for directly, but I figured trading ad-space would [...]
Catching up and working behind the scenes.
Well, between two day-long business trips in as many weeks and catching up from the family vacation three weeks ago, things have been slow here. But I have caught my site postings up with my web gleanings through today, so there are lots more links below. Also, work continues apace behind the pixels on the [...]
Accidental repair.
Well, I sat down to fiddle around with the website a little bit, and I randomly decided to try and fix the long-standing problem with the pull down menus in Firefox. They were colored properly in Internet Explorer, but they were clear on every page when using Mozilla Firefox except one. So I cut and [...]
Goin’ Fishin’…
…for some serious down-time. Posting has been sparse this week because we are preparing to go on vacation next week. Posting will go from skimpy to non-existent next week because we are going to be “all at sea”. See you at the next port!
To recover…
…from my recent mis-timed (though not misplaced) episode of paranoia, I’m working in the background on this site to retroactively rework scripture passages entered before the current scripture-entry regime, and I’m also working on improving navigation between the actual pages dedicated to the books and chapters of the Bible. I’ll still post an occasional article [...]

I’ve been tagged! Book Meme — Myself, From Wits End
For those of you coming over from TulipGirl’s site, I have posted the Book Meme on my personal site, From Wit’s End.
Going with the Flow.
Ah, that’s better. Thanks to the WordPress support forums, I found out a way to take out those annoying automatically-formatted paragraph breaks before and after the content of each post. So things are flowing down the page much better now. I would say now that the front page of this website looks just about exactly [...]
What we’re working on.
I am beginning to compile Scripture pages at all levels. The Bible page will eventually be a “book’s-eye” view of all the cultural interactions depicted in Scripture (For some reason that I haven’t figured out yet, this page doesn’t work in Firefox, but does work in IE. I’m going to get this fixed as soon [...]
Getting better, getting closer.
It’s not perfect, but I’ve done two things; I’ve gotten the cultural posts to look different from the scripture posts, and I’ve gotten the scripture posts to work the way I want them to (mostly): Only one verse is in each post to maximize modularity (so they can be sorted according to category or chapter.) [...]
Retooling.
Well, I found a good book for learning CSS; I’ve dived into it this evening pretty seriously, so no posts tonight. Also, I’m in the same situation as Brother Tom, because we have the same webspace provider, and their trying to move my stuff over to new servers. Here’s hoping that what’s true on the [...]
I just don’t know anything about CSS…
…and that’s all there is to it. The unique arrangement for the scripture verse posts aren’t working out very well, so I’m going to have to break down and check a book on CSS out of the library. Heck, I might even have to buy one. Meanwhile, if you should happen upon this site while [...]
Well, that’s a start.
Here’s the first attempt (Note: static page). I can see I’m going to have to adjust the CSS to keep it from looking so choppy. Wow, do I love WordPress! It’s so flexible! All I have to do is learn a little bit of PHP and CSS, and stand on the shoulders of those more [...]
Pardon our dust…
…we are renovating the arrangement of the individual posts to serve you better… Later… There. That’s done. That’s was actually easier than I thought it would be. You can now see the cultural interaction network for each post, or if it’s a note like this, you see my silly mug. That makes the Editor’s page [...]

May was the month of the Jack-alanche.
[Note: Also published From Wits End] Wow, what a month! As all of you should know by now, My son was born on May 9th, and his appearance on the world scene definitely made waves on this little corner of the internet. Behold, the Jack-alanche! For the day… …for the month… …and for the year… [...]
Compartmentalization.
I love WordPress. It totally rocks. I have been able to bring our personal blog over to my WordPress user interface and still keep it separate from my cultural blog. So you won’t see pictures of little Jack on Seven Realms and you won’t have to read any observations about socialism or illegal immigration on [...]

The Approaching Family Singularity – Myself, From Wit’s End
You may think it horribly egotistical that I’m linking to my own website, but it’s for a good cause. Any day now our son Jack will be born. We don’t know quite when it will happen, but I just wanted to let you know that if you don’t see any posts on this site for [...]

A different kind of bug bit me.
Sorry for the lack of article links, but a 24-hour stomach bug made its way into our house yesterday, and I didn’t have the stomach for much of anything for a couple of days. They should be back at the latest by the end of the week.

Bible Statistics – Catholic Resources
I have found these pages to be very useful. Old Testament Statistics New Testament Statistics It takes me a certain amount of time to color and post a chapter or to enter each verse of a chapter as Scripture Links, and these pages have helped me make the most of my time.
We’re four-digit midgets!
[UPDATE 04/10/06 -- Aw, gee. I just saw this post rendered in IE. Yech. Please please please get Mozilla Firefox, because it doesn't suck. Meanwhile, I'll try to fix this so that it shows up in both browsers the way I originally intended.] [UPDATE 04/14/06 -- Well, this post is fixed, anyway. Sidebar pictures are [...]
Wow, what a month!
Well, since changing my main posting method and tweaking the layout and the margins, I saw pretty early on this past month that I was on track to double the number of hits from last month. Then I tracked back from a post on the Washington Post blog about the “Domenech Debacle”, and I got [...]
