Less articles and other possible changes.
I haven’t been posting as many news articles lately for a few reasons: Life has been intruding to the point where I have been preferring sleep over blogging. Between Family obligations and diversions (vacations, weddings, etc.), Creation invasions (various sicknesses and other sleep interruptions), and Neighborly interests (Jubilee Academy!), there hasn’t been much time left [...]
Analog to Digital
You may have noticed a few new categories that I used in Galatians 4. I had to present the chapter at my small group Bible study, and as I was reviewing it, I realized that some analogy categories were necessary. Once I considered this, I realized pretty fast that the analogy categories will open up [...]
Moving right along… footloose and fancy-free.
The move of this site to Dreamhost went very easily in the last two days. There are still a few small issues on the personal site, but on the whole the move was surprisingly easy. So long Powweb. With Dreamhost I actually have a “now-web” again instead of just an “ow-web”. What I said a [...]
Sorry for the lack of posting.
I was busy last week back-filling old blogger posts on the personal site, and this week my webspace provider was upgrading to SQL 5, rendering my website uneditable for a few days. I’ll try to make up for lost time.
Sorry about the slow page loading.
I have noticed (and you probably have too) ever since the theme change a couple of months ago that the page was loading awfully slowly, sometimes taking as long as a minute. I got a nasty-gram from my webspace provider that I was using too many CGI resources and overloading the MYSQL server (whatever that [...]
Another page fixed.
The CSS and HTML of the Bible Page is fixed. Huzzah.
Well, that’s much better.
An improving understanding of CSS is yielding fruit. The Scripture Entry Status page is looking much better, for instance. As with everything, it will take time to get the other Bible table pages to look as good, but now I know how.
Consider this “further notice”.
In my previous post, I mentioned that I was using the rssfeedreader service insted of a wordpress plugin for the favorite blog feature until further notice. But between the external javascript, the ads, and the spotty functionality, I looked a little closer at the most promising plugin that I had already found. One of the [...]
…And we’re back!
Welcome to Seven Realms 2.0! There are a quite a few loose ends to tie up, but the front page is just about ready. I’m modifying some features relative to the old version, and also adding new features. For instance, category access will be available in the multi-colored matrix on the left sidebar, instead of [...]
Whoops.
Well, I just upgraded to WordPress 2.2 and it has royally messed with my categories. It merged the link categories with the post categories, and consequently screwed up my sidebar. The category merging probably isn’t such a bad thing, it will just take some work to recategorize things and delete all the extra categories. The [...]
A reluctant, inconsistent hiatus…
…is what is in order, I’m afraid. My family will be taking a badly-needed vacation at the latter half of this month, and I’ll be stepping away from this page in favor of some badly-needed R&R. I won’t be completely off the net, though. My personal blog has picked back up again, and I’m also [...]
Working under the radar…
…as I have been wont to do on occasion [There have been lots of family busyness going on lately, and I also just turned 30 years old]. What I’m working on is big, so it’s going to be a while until I post it, I think. I’ll be posting some things that I’ve found lately [...]
This Site by the Numbers for 2006-2007.
I did a post like this about a year ago, so I figured it’s time to do it again just to take stock and take a snapshot of where this site is currently. Call it a “State of the Site” address, if you like. Here are the Realm totals from the All-Time Scoreboard to start [...]
A step whose time has come.
Well, I didn’t do anything about this at first, but it is time that I did. When I first started posting Bible verses to this site using the English Standard Version of the Bible, I knew in the back of my head that I wouldn’t be able to do it for very long before I [...]
Cultural Interaction Categories.
Due to a brainstorm yesterday, I am working on incorporating some new link categories into this site having to do with classifying each post into various general kinds of Cultural Interactions. My lunch hour is over, so I’ll have to expound on the details later. Stay tuned… UPDATE, 10:22pm: I’ve gotten one of them working [...]
Jude is up…
…with strangely appropriate timing, in case you need some encouragement as a true believer today.
Biblical Infrastructure is complete.
I just finished the structure of all the Old Testament book pages from Leviticus to Zechariah. [Genesis, Exodus, & Malachi were already done.] So now the linking and coloring may begin!
2 John is up.
…which is an easy increase of the book count on the sidebar. I love those short little books.
Two more ads, and more infrastructure.
Ad design is kind of fun. Check these out. I’ve gotten all of 25 clicks from these ads, but it’s still fun. Also, the Infrastructure for the New Testament books is finished. The chapters and verses of each book of the New Testament are laid out in tabular form, from Matthew to Revelation. Now all [...]
